Technology Overview
- Eden’s purpose-built open-pool research-type fission reactor optimized for commercial scale production of Mo-99, Lu-177 and other critical medical isotopes – concurrently and continuously.
- Exclusive license from Sandia National Laboratories to the novel design for the reactor core and integrated hot-cell processing facility with members of the original Sandia team now part of Eden - TRL rating of 7-8.
- 90% input recycling (uranium and ytterbium).
- 24 × 365 operation for continuous output.
- Capable of producing at least half of the global demand for Mo-99 using only LEU.
- Capable of producing 2M doses per year of Lu-177.
- Other isotope production feasible (Y-90, I-131, Xe-133, Tb-161, Cu-67).
Eden Isotope Production Complex
- Eden’s Isotope Production Complex will be the world’s only fully-integrated reactor and hot cell facility for the dedicated commercial production of medical radioisotopes.
- Eden’s novel All-Target Reactor Technology is capable of producing both fission product radioisotopes and activation radioisotopes for both diagnostic and therapeutic uses for the nuclear medicine community in North America and the world.
- A unique feature of Eden’s technology is that the nuclear reactor facility and hot cell facility are combined allowing the low-enriched uranium (LEU) targets to be processed immediately after irradiation, minimizing the decay losses experienced at other facilities.
- All of the LEU targets in the All-Target Reactor core are used to produce Mo-99. There is no spent fuel generated.
- Eden’s location in New Mexico is strategically located near other Nuclear Regulatory Licensed (NRC) facilities, such as URENCO, USA, and Waste Control Specialists, and is a welcomed addition to the local community.
- The Eden Isotope Production Complex is a highly efficient isotope production facility that is extremely safe, flexible, scalable and cost-effective, that is adaptive and responsive to domestic and global market needs and cost competitive.
